NOTE

The album Menlove Ave. consisted of various recordings by John Lennon that were previously unavailable to the general public. It contained only one song that had previously been released on the Roots record (this is 'Angel Baby'). Read the story of the appearance of the Roots record here.

We know from reference sources that the Menlove Ave. record was released in small editions twice during 1986-1987. There are two different matrix numbers and two types of inner packages. But externally, the cover and labels had absolutely no differences between the first and additional printings. This page shows the very first edition of the album, which was named after the street on which John's home was located, where he spent his childhood years.

The inner sleeve (early) copy should be produced by DRG and dated 8/86.

The inner sleeve of the later copy has a G.H. code (we cannot identify the printer) and is dated 1286.

Also, there may be internal packages with other dates.

You may find copies of the album in UK covers and with UK matrix numbers but with a boxed Parlophone logo оn the labels. These are Irish copies.
