NOTE

Ringo Starr's debut album was composed entirely of covers of compositions that he first heard as a child on old records kept in his family. Unfortunately, Ringo himself hardly remembers who performed these songs. Here are collected original compositions from the most famous performers.

The album was released in March 1970.

The cover of the original issue was completely laminated and had a darker tint. The catalog number is indicated on the edge only. On the back cover in the upper left corner there is the Apple Records logo, and at the bottom there is "An E.M.I. Recording." plus indication of the country and printing house "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd.".

The record was placed in a standard factory inner bag with rounded edges at the corners. On the back of the white envelope was printed: "PATENT NO. 1.125.555." (left) and "MADE IN ENGLAND" (right).

Circa 1974-1975 the edition was repeated with some changes in tints. The cover has become lighter and its spine is wider. No other changes were noted in the reissue cover design.

The reissue was printed from the same matrix as the original first release. Therefore, the matrix numbers remain the same.

The labels of reissue were printed on a light apple. The side 1 label had some differences from the original (see Pic. 1):
− in the right and left parts of the label the spaces between the lines have increased, the position of the inscriptions relative to each other has changed;
− the copyright symbol in front of the year of publication has changed from small to large.

The second side of the reissue had 2 sub-variants (see Pic. 2).
− The first sub-version (var. A) was practically no different from the original edition.
− The second sub-option (var. B) consisted of a tracklist typed in 9 lines instead of 10. The shift occurred due to the fact that the credits for some songs changed. This sub-option is much less common.

On both releases, inaccuracies were noted in the spelling of track titles on covers and labels.
− On the cover the 6th composition is written as Star Dust (in two words). On the label as Stardust (continuous).
− On the labels the second track Love Is A Many Splendored Thing on side 2 is misspelled (the letter U is missing).

ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:

Дебютный альбом Ринго Старра был полностью составлен из каверов на композиции, которые он впервые услышал в детстве на старых пластинках, хранившихся в его семье. К сожалению, сам Ринго уже плохо помнит в чьём исполнении звучали эти песни. Здесь собраны композиции в оригинальном исполнении от наиболее известных исполнителей.

Альбом вышел в марте 1970 года.

Обложка оригинального выпуска была полностью ламинирована и имела более тёмный оттенок. Каталожный номер указан только на ребре. На обратной стороне обложки в верхнем левом углу имеется логотип компании Apple Records, а в внизу "An E.M.I. Recording." плюс указание страны и типографии "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd.".

Пластинка вкладывалась в стандартный заводской внутренний пакет с закруглёнными срезами по углам. С обратной стороны белого конверта было напечатано: "PATENT NO. 1.125.555." (слева) и "MADE IN ENGLAND" (справа).

Примерно в 1974-1975 годах тираж повторили с некоторым изменением в оттенках. Обложка стала светлее, а её корешок шире. Других изменений в дизайне обложки переиздания не замечено.

Пластинка переиздания была отпечатана с тех же самых матриц, что и оригинальный первый выпуск. Поэтому, матричные номера остались прежними.

− в правой и левой частях этикетки увеличились промежутки между строк, изменилось расположение надписей относительно друг друга;
− знак копирайта, стоящий перед годом издания, изменился с маленького размера на большой.

Вторая сторона переиздания имела 2 подварианта (см. Рис. 2).
− Первый подвариант (вар. А) практически ничем не отличался от оригинального издания.
− Второй подвариант (вар. B) состоял из треклиста, набранного в 9 строк вместо 10. Сдвижка произошла за счёт того, что изменились кредиты к некоторым песням. Этот подвариант встречается значительно реже.

В обеих изданиях замечены неточности в написании названия треков на обложках и этикетках.
− На обложке 6-я композиция написана, как Star Dust (в два слова). На этикетке как Stardust (слитно).
− На этикетках вторая композиция Love Is A Many Splendoured Thing на стороне 2 указана с ошибкой (пропущена буква U).
